Rated M for MATURE
Jan. 21So I was browsing youtube for some videos about Xbox and came across this. I don't know if anybody read my rant about immaturity on Xbox live, but I went into a long rant about how kids shouldn't even be playing M rated games. Here's a perfect example of when I say to myself, "Where the hell were their parents?".
But oh wait!! There's more to come! Because in the description, it says "The funniest halo you will ever see in your life, also see part 2 and 3 - coming soon!". Oh Boy!! I can't wait!!

That's unreal, I really hope one of their parents come across that video. M rating = mature, and for a good reason. Until kids grow a pair, they should stick to Mario Galaxy. I could go into a parenting rant, but I know it's hard to monitor every single thing your child's doing at home OR harder what they're up to elsewhere.

The ironic thing is, everyone talks about how the 360 and PS3 are for the mature gamers and yet the only people you seem to hear chatting on Halo or Call of Duty 4 are immature 12 year olds. No, the mature, adult gamers are the ones enjoying Mario Galaxy.
I really don't care because my parents allowed me to play "Mature" games when I was that age. Sure, I didn't act that stupid. In fact, don't we ALL say that at this age looking back. Irony is, we probably WERE that annoying at that age playing those games.
I think the parental guidance should come into play when their child starts showing some anger issues with the games they're playing. Want examples? Just type in "angry child gamer" into Youtube, or some rendition of it.
But kids will be kids and when it comes down to it, we all probably acted similiar. We just like to look upon ourselves with a "special" view.

I play CS:S, And trust me - it's no better there. Luckily, you can mute players on Steam ^.^
Young kids should not play these games until they learn to lose with some respect.
I must have played online with at least half of the 12 year olds who play Halo 3. And most of them were really annoying, talking trash, laughing loud, and getting mad when we kept head shotting them. "Stop that Sniper BS". It was classic.
They would eventually just leave the game because they didn't want to play nice. But I absolutely agree that Parents should not let their little kids play games where they can ruin it for everyone else.
I certainly wasn't like that. :P
Seriously, though, I was a pretty tame kid.
The problem is parents who don't pay much attention to their kids are the ones who end up raising brats like this. People should have to have a license before they can raise kids. :P

I have no problme with letting my 6yr old play UT3 on my PS3,. or even a Game like Halo3 , Gears of War when I rent a 360 for them,. my question is,. where do kids learn to talk like that???,. last time I checked Halo,UT3,Gears(it got some "bad words" sure) but nothing that would spawn this crap,.
I dont see that a kid at that age should need to be supervised playing a game like Halo, Gears , UT3 ,. but the parent should be aware of that kind of behavour cuase it's not like it's only common show it's ugly head during gaming. hell the worst we called each other was stupid or dumbass,.
I myself Actaully got sick of Playing Resistance online cause you'd get people of every age who wouldnt shut up and every 3and 4 word was either fag or fuck or some combo of both among the whole list of other words.,. PSN and XBL should have a reporting system,. that you can use right form in each online game,. and say automatically capture a few seconds worth of chat form the person you report most of the time thats more then enough,. hell that should be enforced,. where's Jack Thompson when you actually want him LOL
The fact that they're cussing isn't the bad part. cuz I cuss a shit ton on xbl and when I was younger. It's the part where their screeching voices are so high pitched because they're raisin sized testicles have not descended from their goochel region that makes me want to kill someone. I didn't start playing halo until I was 17, so I can't say I was like this. and honestly... xbl wasn't around for the majority of us when we were that young. So we can't really say if we'd be like that or not. But god... it's so fucking annoying.

Ok, those kids are brats. I am sorry, BUT, I never acted like a little s@#T. First off, Mature is for 'mature' gamers, and mature gamers DO NOT yell, smack lips like a trashy cow, or yell racist/sexist/slurs or any garbage like that! Some of the kids I have played with are good, but there are a bunch that shouldn't be on there. What blows my mind is parents thay buy these games and never look at the content or watch them play online, or look into it, and purchase live! Being a parent this makes me sick. It is like Maury! You have got these 13 year olds making babies expecting the state to pay and parents just don't do any parenting.
So I am with you Brit-Where are the parents and Live needs to show they take action on complaints. I have no problem turning in a punk kid for racist or homophobic crap becuase it is talk like that that creates an unsafe society!

Frankly its not the whole m-rated nature of halo that these kids are too young for. Really halo is pretty tame. The point is not protecting them its protecting us form them. These kids shouldn't be allowed to play online. They can get the game and play locally or offline but when you are a little annoying piece of crap you shouldn;t be allowed online. REally i think online gaming in general should be rated mature cuz of first of all everyone is gonna drop f-bombs ehre and there and obviously alot of kids aren't mature enough to handle the anominity of online communication without abusing it.

[p]...Anyways, the fact that they're swearing isn't really the problem when playing with them. It's how they say them and the volume of their voices. I swear like a sailor, but not for the shock value or to act cool. It's just easier to use most of the time in everyday conversations. I can control it when need be, of course.

I don't play any systems, but i do play Counter-strike and TF2. Very rarely do I hear people act immaturely on the comms in those games. It does happen from time to time though. The majority of the talk is game relavent.
The host of that EG show made it sound like a rare occurance to hear people actually talk about what is happening in the game, on the xbox. Is that true?
If WoW ever comes out with a decent comms system, it will be interesting to hear that.

Well, i finally purchase my speakers and watch this video, turns out it was better when i watched it without the sound. You have to be kidding me! I thought such stories were myths or something. Ive always heard about the screaching down microphones on game servers, notably Halo, but this is just rediculous. The truly scary thing is that they think its brilliant, fun and that theres nothing wrong; so much so to post it on YouTube! Seriously, i know its been said but where are the parents? What the hell are they doing? Being bone idle, not caring and leaving their kids to rampage across the internet. But anyways, rant over for now

While I've never really understood why a game like Halo gets an M rating (look at the Teen rated 'Uncharted' for the PS3! You are shooting black people in the FACE continuously!), I simply can't stand little shits like that. Listening to their prepubescent cracking girlie voices makes me want to straight up murder them.
Luckily, I don't play Halo, so I'm not exposed to such idiocy. But for sure we'll talk about this on the next podcast!
