Vader's secret apprentice coming to Soul Calibur IV

The hottest thing... I have ever seen...
Is it true? Star Wars had made yet another edition to the up coming game Soul Calibur IV. Most gamers know about the Yoda and Darth Vader characters in the 360 and PS3 version, but guess who is now being added to both versions? Darth Vader's secret apprentice from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed!
I can understand why most Soul Calibur fans are extremely upset over the fact that the yet another character is being added to the Soul Calibur world.
I've played Soul Calibur, but I was more into Dead or Alive. So I don't know much about the series. I was talking with a friend who is a Soul Calibur fan about this new edition, and the only thing he really had to say was its the "bastardization" of Soul Calibur.
"You must realize I'm one of the many who hates the fact that games are starting to become more casual/mainstream, which no one from the Soul Calibur universe wants. The people like myself who have put hundreds of hours into soul blade, soul calibur, and SC2, its just a kick in the nuts" he explained.
I personally believe that adding these characters is a great thing. It opens the game up for a large community who probably wouldn't have thought of touching the game. But the question always comes up about balance. How can you have balance between a blade and a lightsaber? I still haven't wrapped my mind around the physics of that.

Humf... Too much star wars in this one..Darth Sidius would have be cool but this character seem kinda boring but still can't wait too play this game!!

I've been a total Soul Calibur fan ever since Soul Blade. I say the more characters the merrier. But I don't know how the stories are going to tie in together because it's just really random that star wars characters randomly appeared. Personally the idea of playing as Vader excites me.

Why don't they just make a %&@#!&* Star Wars fighting game already, and leave Soul Calibur alone? I mean, LLinnk and Heiheichi were one thing, but tossing in three guys with lightsabers into a game about swords, shirls, and magic is just dumb.
Who's next? Indiana Jones? TRON guy? Jack Sparrow?

why taint the game Vader is gunna be the best already why add another.
Screw your friend Bunny!!! Your friend is to irrogant to realize the potential to mold with the mainstream can bring. Mo Money menas mo content, most of tyhe time... If it takes mainstream to to do this then so be it.
On second thought, Jack Sparrow would be badass. Put him in.
Hopefully the Stars Wars tie-in will make a ton of money for Namco and they will re-invest it in the fabulous fighting system they've created.
I don't know whether this is Fan Service or just plain advertising for the Star Wars franchise and the new game Force Unleashed.
I am not too thrilled with the fact the lightsaber doesn't instantly kill someone. It is like that 1 Star Wars episode III and Jedi Power Battle. Soul Calibur has been a pretty good fighting series though, i had 2 and III never played the others.

This game just moved up another slot on my fall list of games.
at least this way we have two available star wars charachters in each game to fight each other.
@WestlsBetter - Psh.. No! It's obvious Banjo will be next with Kazooie as his blade. ^_^
And lightsabers aren't too crazy of a concept around magic and swords.
Here's hoping they add some more...Jango Fett or Grievous would be excellent additions- Jango could have mostly ranged attacks and Grievous...well Grievous has four arms. It'd be an awesome standoff...

I do KIND of understand where your friend's coming from, but at the same time, it's also a blessing that gaming is more mainstream. It's offering more choices, more opportunities, and best of all, more gamers to play with. Wanting to stay an inaccessible, occult hobby is sort of silly in the long run when gaming is only getting better lately. Sure, there are a lot of crappy games, but for each crappy one there is an amazing one too. I don't think there's anything wrong with adding the SW characters into the franchise. It's a fun little add-on. Link, Heihachi, and Spawn had nothing to do with the titles, either, except for the fact that they tied in with the platforms they were released on. Did they make the games any less fun? Nope.
I also have to wonder how having a lightsaber will be fare to plain ol' sword-carriers. ;)
As a Huge Star wars fan i say that is one glorious story, finally some real news. But i bet that soul calibur will have more unlockable characters, it will be great to see General grievous vs Mace windu, od Han Solo vs Boba fett, awesome better yet palpatine vs mitsurugi. Am i asking to much?

They did have a Star Wars fighting game i remember on PS, Masters of Teras Kasi. Gawd, what a joke that was, do ya'll remember that? lol

R: that would be an awesome idea, and yes there was already Star wars master os Teras Kasi back on 97, but those are only bad memories, i think if they would want to do a good star wars fighting game in these era with this new consoles it would be a LEGENDERY GAME, per example, i liked what they did with KOTOR (one of my favorites) and Battle front is awesome, so it would be great to have Star wars fighting game, i got one good feeling.
They should even bring in like other charactes from the StarWarsverse, like... Bastila Shan!
Bastila, my fave character, i turned her to the darkside of the force. Mwahahaha.

@bunny: Holy crap. Bastila? That would OWN. Throw in Revan and the Solo Twins, and they've gone and made the most epic piece of Star Wars merchandise EVAR.
