i must say the big 3's conferences were not as evenfull or exciting as i hoped for. but i personaly think that Sony's was more rounded. Nintendo stuck to their "casual gamer" guns(never thought i would say this, but i'd rather see Reggie up there then the lady they had doing most of the talking this year, was i the only one that wanted to smack Mrs. Soccer mom in the face and tell her to shut her pie hole?) and Microsoft showed off things we have seen before. some of thier games and features looked erriely like others on the market(lipps, if you dont say that is a blatent clone of SINGSTAR, you're blind and we wont start on the avitars) Sony, seemed to show stuff that would cover all the bases and still showed off some hardcore games.

the LBP presentation was a great use of the game. could you imagine actually using this in a true business setting?

I wish they would have dated HOME, that seems to be their main stumbling point is never telling us when we will finally have a chance to use HOME. I cant say i have the highest interest in HOME , but i might use it every now and then.

Sony's press conference was decent I thought. What worries me is that many of these games have no concrete release dates. Sure, a lot of new stuff was shown, but they're most likely not coming out this year. Or next year. Possibly 2010. DC Universe Online caught my attention, but with no release date, I can't get too excited about it. Infamous looks boring and generic. Nothing special. MAG has a lot of potential, but can they pull off the 256 player games and upgrade system? Once again, with no release date, we'll have to wait indefinitely to see. And oh yeah, Heather, it's Call of Duty 3, not 4, which will be a Greatest Hits game.

Jack Tretton said during the conference that most of the games announced were sceduled for an 08 release, while saying 09 would be the time for GoW3 and Resistance: Ret. Don't recall hearing anything about the release scedule of DCOU or MAG, but most everything else mentioned at the conference was 08.

i would like to start this off w/ who the shitstick is Heather??? all these new ppl coming is becoming overwhelming. like good LAWD! anywho.......iv already adressed my thoughts in Raychuls MS forgetting its hardcore fans thread. sony had the best show (not b/c its SONY), but b/c they came through w/ announcing brand new, never b4 seen ps3/ psp games, showed the 1st ever screening of GOW3, R&C Booty/ psp titles, was creative w/ their presentation (the LBP effect which as a double whammy put a big smile on my face), had the Video/ TV service they showed off available THAT day (when i get my paycheck 2morrow, some Afro Samurai, Basilisk and Trinity Blood episodes might find a new home). 256 online multiplayer by the team who made Socom will be nothing short of epic.

The DC MMO looks nice but somethign about the combat animations seemed odd to me. I am a Marvel fan at heart but anytihing that has to do with Batman is cool in my book. I still don't know if I will play this one though. The Agency seems more appealing to me right now.

all in all, it was an ok press conference but it's hard to get excited when more than half of what was shown doesn't have any kind of date attached to it. God knows when most of that stuff will come out.

I probably won't care about MAG, even though I agree that what they are trying to do is impressive. Good luck to the dev team. I hope they make a good game for those who like this sort of thing. I can only play so many shooters before getting bored though.

Too bad Sony doesn't seem to be focusing onn RPGs this time around. The only RPGs the PS3 has so far an until the end of the year seem to be ports from other consoles. Still, there are many cool games coming out. Good times.

Sony sucks at everything they have ever done, except making a television and the same system over and over and over and over again. the psp is the same as the ps2 except portable. the ps2 is the same thing as the ps1 with a dvd player. the ps3 is the SAME EXACT SYSTEM as the ps2.
