Sorry we missed last week folks! So much to do so little time but we heard some good and bad announcements from E3. This weeks question is from Kevin:
Hello Ladies,
What a great year to be a gamer, am I right? Huge titles like Grand Theft Auto IV, Mario Kart Wii, and Super Smash Bros Brawl have already hit the shelves, and the year isn't even half over! With the rest of the year to look forward to, I can't wait to get my hands on the next Banjo-Kazooie title, Guitar Hero IV, Gears of War 2, and Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit.
My question is,

which upcoming videogames are you GameGirls anticipating the most?

Since there were just so many games to choose from we decided that we would pick only two games each. Read on to see our choices!

My most anticipated games of 2008 would have to be The Force Unleashed and Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe! I am such a huge fan of anything Star Wars and this game is going to be absolutely epic. I cannot wait to play through this games story line. As for MK vs. DCU, I have been playing MK for years now and it definitely one of my favorite series. Not to mention, I absolutely love the Batman and the rest of the DC characters. I am really looking forward to both of these games but I've got a few more months, sadly.

Picking only 2 games out of 2008's line up is a very hard thing to ask of someone. Thinking it thru I decided it would be best to pick games that would keep me entertained longer than the average game and games that had promising re-playability. If I could only pick two, and no more, I would have to go with GTA 4 and Gears of War 2.
GTA 4 because it is a game that I could play for months, there are so many different mission tracks and different tasks that I could play for days and still not progress the story much. With GTA 4 I could pick up and play for a few hours here and there and not feel outta touch. I could also just go on rampages or just take a few people on dates to pass time. With GTA I could go months without the need of another games.
Gears of Wars 2 because the first one was so good that I played it completely through 3 different times and the second one looks to promise even more. I could go months with Gears, replaying it on new difficult levels and getting better and better at the game without need of another game. I could also play through with friends online or just go in for a few competitive matches.
Both GTA4 and Gears can hold my usually short attention span like no other game. So if I had to go through all of 2008 with only 2 games that were/will be released in that year, then yes, I would pick GTA4 and Gears of War 2.

Gah, my two anticipated games came out already haha. So Im gonna go with ones that haven't come out yet....Ima go with Spore - because it looks so damn cool and Star Wars Force Unleashed as I am a huge SW fan!

Gears of War 2 (of course). This is a no-brainer. With the success of the first one, it no wonder so many people are abuzz about the game. Given my very vocal love affair with Gears of War this is my first choice. My second choice is Resistance 2. Again, hoping it can live up to the intensity and power of the first one, I cannot wait to get my hands on it.

- Of course, Gears of War 2. I love the first, and the second looks awesome. All the screenshots and videos just make me want it more. I think the teaser trailer with the counter move for the chainsaw weapon, looks awesome. Plus being able to use bodies as a shield will also help out as well as be an interesting feature to use. Although it looks more fast paced than the first gears, due to the vehicles your riding on.
- The other game I really want to get is Tomb Raider Underworld. I am a big Tomb Raider fan. I started on the Playstation with Tomb Raider, and never gave it up. I've played both Anniversary and Legend on the Xbox 360, and they were great. I think they did an excellent job revamping the Tomb Raider franchise to the newer systems. The new AI for the Underworld installment is suppose to be even better than before, created a more difficult game play. I also think the way they implement real mythology/history into the games was a good idea. The story mode on the Tomb Raider series keeps me coming back for more. Plus, come on, who wouldnt love a female that kicks butt?

So the question is what are the two games of 2008 that I need. Well first I'll pick a game that has come out already. My favorite game this year, so far, is Mario Kart for the Wii. It's not the type of game that I can sit down and play for hours but it is the type of game where I am always down for a few races. This is a great game to play with your family. Sadly we only have two Wiimotes so fights occasionally happen.
My pick of a game that hasn't come out yet is Gears of War 2. There are so many games that I want like Viva Pinata 2 and Banjo Threeie, and yes I'm aware those aren't the actual titles. But if I had to pick one it would be Gears. I was sold with chainsawing from the crotch up, super classy. I am soo looking forward to playing this on co-op. My fingers are still crossed for 4 player co-op.

The two games I'm MOST anticipating this year are BOTH Star Warsy! Soul Calibur IV, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed!
I'm getting both games for the Wii and Xbox (final decision! See article: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed -DS, Xbox, Wii, PS3?) That's how excited I am for it! I can't just play Yoda in SCIV! I gotta have Vader too! I most definitely want the extras TFU has to offer on the wii, like the Jedi Temple level, the five extra missions, and the Wiisaber pwnage.. but I also don't want to miss out on the stunning DMM & Euphoria graphic technology available on my Xbox. I'm not going to see the light of day after July 29th!

There are so many games that I want this year that it was really hard just to dwindle it down to just two. So for me I decided to go with my favorite genre: Role-Playing Games! My first choice has already come out and that is Final Fantasy Fables Chocobos Dungeon. I don't hide my complete love for the Final Fantasy series and the Chocobo spin off games are actually kind of fun.
My second choice is Fable 2. I enjoyed the original Fable because it was what a role playing game should be. Showing players that the actions that you take have consequences --whether they are good or bad. I am really excited for the addition of having a dog and being able to play co-op online. There is just so much about this game that I am excited for..I may just ramble about it later!
