Welcome to another edition of This Week in Geek, the one place you can go for everything Games, Entertainment, Entertainment and Kittens. After an exciting week at Comic Con International I can tell you, first hand, that there is a plethora of exciting news coming to the gaming world.

Rumors:
-According to Play.com there is a Wii Pikmin game that's due to come out this March. Nintendo is yet to confirm or deny rumors of this being true. Since E3, Miyamoto has gone on record saying that there are teams working on a Pikmin, among other classic Nintendo games.
-The official EA site is fueling rumors that Warhammer Online will be released in September 2008. The game was all but confirmed to be done at this years E3. The date many believe will be the launch day is September 23, 2008. No official press releases has been given out at this time.
-It looks like the Mass Effect Trilogy is still in the works. According to Ray Muzyka of Bioware, the entire Mass Effect Trilogy will be Xbox 360 exclusive as well. If this is true, it will calm many fanboys. Now that EA owns Bioware there is reason to speculate that EA will do what it usually does and release the games on multiple consoles.

The Buzz:
-Epic's Mike Capps has predicted that the next Unreal Tournaments game, 4, will be reaching shelves by 2012. In an interview with Gamersutra Capps said, "It's going to be in the next console generation--our rough guess is 2012 [up to] 2018." This leads me to wonder when we will learn more about the next generation of consoles. The Xbox came out in 2002 and the Xbox 360 came out just 3 years later in 2005. With 2009 just around the corner, could we be seeing a new Microsoft console soon? The PS2 was released in 1999 and the PS3 was released at the end of 2006, so a Sony console coming out in the next few years seems less likely.

Announcements:
-A few weeks ago I posted about a countdown clock appearing on Cyrptic Studio's website. Many, like myself, hoped the countdown would reveal the highly anticipated Star Trek MMo. Well, our Trekkie prayers have been answered. The official site is up and running. Check it out.
-Empire Interactive has revealed they will be releasing an Unsolved Crimes game. The game will come out on the Nintendo DS. In the game you will play as a rookie detective in New York. Moreinfo.
-Ubisoft has confirmed that the sequel to Red Steel is in the works. This comes as a bit of a surprise since Red Steel was hardly met with critical or consumer praise. No word yet on whether or not this game will be Wii exclusive as the it's prequel was.

lol wii points hahahaha *cough* *splutter* (and other evil but failed laughs gestures and actions that are meant to be somehow have a cartoonish comedy) i laugh at you

...sorry that comes from my hate of the Nintendo game recycling machine i just can't help it i'm sure it is fun and has good games but somehow like jap jap games i can't stand the very sight of them and i would rather blow torch my nipples off than look at one...(curse Microsoft and Sonys hold on my mind)

but my question is: does the wii have a games that are epic or a game that you must play if you were to say get one (yes i have been thinking about it even though of what i have just said above i guess you call that contradictory unless maybe it was on purpose.

Everyone's idea of epic is different, but judging from what I could gather from past posts, you seem like an fps man. In which case you owe it to yourself to check out Metroid Prime 3.

Now if by "recycled" you mean features the same protagonist, then it's guilty of a klasco crime. You are Samus Aran again in this one. However, I think you'll overlook that slight once you pick up the fluid controls and lose yourself in the intense combat.

Also, if you ever do get those double entendre points, download Sin & Punishment.

Are you kidding me? 900 wii points = $9 right? I just bought The Art of Fighting Anthology on the PS2 for $10 new, and that comes with the firs three games in the series.

Does this include the first three AoF games, or is it just the original?
