Gears of War 2: The Aftermath

Nov. 9 8:33 PM by Nikole

***Don't worry, there are no spoilers***
Anyone who has been on XBL this weekend might have noticed a trend, every single person on your friends list is playing the same game: Gears of War 2. A game hasn't impacted the entire community this way since Halo. Of course, Halo 3 mania had far more hype, they had their own Halo flavored Mountain Dew, which trumps all else. None the less the impact of Gears of War 2 is being seen all over. Don't expect to see a change anytime soon either, with the new Horde Mode, GoW2 isn't going to go anywhere without breaking a few records first.

How the upcoming election is affecting the Video Game world.

Oct. 16 12:41 PM by Nikole

It seems that with just a few weeks until America's next presidential election takes place there isn't a single medium that is free from political pressure. Even good ol' wholesome video games are being affected by the way the country seems to be dividing. Left or Right, Spock or Kirk, and now Luigi or Mario. But the intrusion of politics on our video game culture doesn't end there.

Gadgets, Gear(s) and Grub

Oct. 8 9:34 PM by NuyoRiquena

As I mention in my previous article [read here] regarding E for All there were a few new things I was very excited about. Some I have already added to my repertoire. With the exception of Gears of War 2 Horde mode and Far Cry 2, there seemed to be little in the way of exciting new games so I spent a lot of time checking out gadgets and other booths.

Assassin's Creed. It gets mixed results when mentioned around gamers. Some talk about how lame it was, and unsatisfying as it is repetitive and hated the ending. The Wavebird. The classic Wii Controller. Just two examples of how Nintendo has had to deal with lawsuits over patent infringements. But it doesn't stop there. Nintendo now faces their biggest lawsuit yet. This time, it's for the Wii system. The reason? Yet again, infringement of patents.

Video Game Quotes - Vol. 3

Sep. 9 7:43 PM by Ladyluck

Video game quotes tend to be ones well known. But it all depends on the person. Some remember different quotes or pieces of a game that others do not. This week I chose a great game that is full of dialog. From the city of Rapture itself, it's Bioshock.

With Little Sisters, Dr. Steinman, Adam Ryan, and many other characters, what's not to love. It is a great game, and lucky for the Sony fans, it will be coming out this November for the PS3. So here are some great quotes from the Bioshock cast to tied you over.

PAX 2008 :: Event Review

Sep. 4 10:52 PM by NuyoRiquena

PAX is the equivalent to Disneyland for gamers. There are lounge areas, freeplay until 3am, and more - a gamers' playground. There are demo stations where you can try the latest or unreleased games as long as you are willing to stand in line for at least 30-60 minutes; just like Disneyland. While there I got to meet some amazing people, try out some great products and most importantly play Gears of War 2! Now, I couldn't possibly cover EVERYTHING I saw at PAX in one article. My attention span isn't that long and I fear people would run at the site of a 2,000 word essay, even if it is about PAX. I am going to have to give you the rundown but please understand, some instances were so amazing they have spawned their own article.
