Being hardcore and typing used to be farther from each other than a dwarf paladin to his WoW "girlfriend". Mavis Beacon and Typing tutor, the lackluster, mother-approved typing software of its time, was obviously beaten up and had its lunch money consantly stolen by Typing of the Dead, the coolest choice for lightning fast keyboard etiquette... And blowing zombies' heads off. With two new installments on the way, your horrible spelling and grammar are sure to come to an end (I've seen your comments. Most of you could do with some help.)
In two weeks Mortal Kombat vs. DC will hit the shelves with as we all know, a Teen rating. Since I was young I had always been a fan of this series. I remember feeling accomplished for getting my hands on these M rated games. They hold a special place in my heart with titles such as Grand Theft Auto III and Max Payne, that I probably shouldn't have been playing... but thats what gave them even more appeal. More importantly, Mortal Kombat fatalities are some what nostalgic to me when thinking about how much I played MK on the PSOne and PS2. This is why I hold the Mortal Kombat series in such high regards. However, this will be the first of the series to have a Teen rating and I would be lying if I said I wasn't terribly disappointed.
This weekend two of your Gamegirl's, Nikole and Raychul, went to Blizzard's Blizzcon event in Southern California. While there was plenty to do one game stood out and made an impression on both girls. That game is Diablo 3, the latest installment in the Diablo 3 series. The game doesn't have a release date yet but both Nikole and Raychul can't wait! See their first impressions of the game after the jump!
I have been a long time fan of fighters. Ever since Yie Ar Kung Fu hit arcades I have been plopping down quarters with the intention of thoroughly embarrassing my hapless opponent. I love the thrill and challenge of the one on one mental meta game that takes place against higher skilled opponents. There is just nothing like it.
Given all the hype surrounding the new XBLA title, Braid, I had to see what it was all about and judge for myself whether it was warranted. So much like the other hoards of people, I downloaded the game (1200 points) and started in on my quest. After a day and a half of nearly non-stop play, I have beaten the game and can say with a certainty, I understand the hype.
About a week ago I heard all about this little game on Xbox Live Arcade and then few days ago, while doing some research, I found out that it ranked tenth for Xbox 360 games of all time, beating out some strong competitors. Then there is the price. At 1200 points, roughly 15-16 dollars, it was better than some games I have purchased for sixty-plus dollars.
I travel - a lot. Since I have to deal with planes, trains and automobiles regularly, keeping up with my PS3, Wii or 360 is not always an option. Having great games for my Nintendo DS and Sony PSP are a must. A few months ago I invested in a little nerd game called CrossworDS. I have been playing it ever since.
As a self-professed Achievement Hunter, I find that I will try almost anything when it comes to the Xbox 360, with other systems however, I am decidedly more careful. When I went in search of a new title, I saw that CrossworDS (at the time, just released) was a mere $19.99 and had crosswords, word search and anagrams. The nerd in me giggled with delight. Even if it turned out to be a dud, it was a far smaller investment than I have made in the past for bombs.
Have you ever wanted to be a Ninja? Just wanted to leap across open spaces, avoiding rockets, robots and lasers to collect all those little tidbits of gold? Well then N+ is the game for you. N+ is an update to the award winning flash game N created by Metanet Software brought to the PSP and DS courtesy of both Metanet Software and Atari. But can this game really bring the same fun that you get on the computer and XBL/PSN to the handheld arena? Most importantly is it worth your money?

Most of you that visit our site know my video game weakness - RPGs. What is it about these games that get me so excited? Simple..EVERYTHING. My favorite series has to be Final Fantasy, though a small portion of gamers dislike the series. Why has this series continued to flourish and become one of the most known series from the RPG genre? Because it rocks, plain and simple. I know one of the main blows to the PS3 community was the fact that they lost one of their biggest exclusives: Final Fantasy XIII...but is it as bad as some sony fans are making it seem? Or is Square Enix planning on something even better to provide to their loyal fans?
